Poetry Dissolved
They spatter impromptu drivel
upon her words.

And the caustic droppings
quickly erode
her craft.

Like concentrated
sulfuric acid,

leaving in its wake
the stench of denatured reagents
and stale water.

The substrate passes unnoticed
as a redolent wisp of vapor,

while they stare at the inert residue
and proclaim:

"There is nothing here."
